Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation Celebrates Women’s Day with Service at Old Age Home

Dehradun: Marking Women’s Day with a spirit of compassion and selfless service, the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Uttarakhand, organized a special outreach programme at Prem Dham Old Age Home. Members of various bhajan groups associated with Sri Sathya Sai Jyoti Centre visited the facility and spent meaningful time with its elderly residents.

During the visit, the volunteers interacted with 23 senior citizens residing at the home, inquiring about their well-being and listening to their experiences. The team engaged in heartfelt conversations with the elderly, offering them companionship, emotional support, and a sense of belonging. The interaction created a warm and joyful atmosphere, bringing smiles to the faces of the residents.

The volunteers also met with the staff members of the old age home to understand the arrangements and facilities being provided for the residents. They appreciated the efforts of the management and caregivers in ensuring the comfort and well-being of the elderly.

As part of the service activity, the team distributed biscuits, fresh fruits, and Fruity juice among the residents. The thoughtful gesture was warmly received and added to the happiness of the elderly, many of whom expressed gratitude for the visit and the affection shown by the volunteers.

Representatives of the organisation stated that the programme was inspired by the teachings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, who emphasized that “Service to Man is Service to God.” They noted that such initiatives help strengthen values of love, compassion, and social responsibility while fostering greater care and respect for senior citizens.

The Women’s Day service activity reflected the organisation’s commitment to community welfare and highlighted the important role women play in spreading kindness and humanitarian values in society.

Among those present were. Kiran Ahluwalia,  Kusum Nautiyal, Dr. Anjali Verma,. Radha Vallabh, Meera Chhetri, Sapna Thapa, Jaya Gurung, Rajmati Rai, Maya Thapa, Kusum Sharma, Urmila Gurung, and other members of the Seva Organisation.
