Please, Don’t Turn Everything Into Politics…”

In today’s noisy political climate, many people hear endlessly — but rarely pause to think independently. Voices are amplified, narratives are repeated, and opinions are often borrowed rather than formed.

We are growing up believing there are only two political roads, only two choices, only two names that matter. But can a nation as vast, diverse, and complex as India truly fit into such narrow political frames? The beauty of this country has always been its diversity — of people, cultures, languages, and ideas.

Political parties were never meant to be mere names or symbols. They were meant to represent ideologies, visions, and promises of direction. Today, however, an important question stands before us: what remains of those ideals?

Every election season, citizens step out to vote, often without meaningful debate or deep public discussion. Leadership rises to the top with limited accountability, and many times the questions asked are carefully controlled by the very people in power. It is worth remembering that governments are often formed with barely one-third of the total vote share, while the remaining majority stands divided in opposition.

If we observe the most educated and literate parts of the world — and even India — we notice something important: people think differently because they question, they read, and they engage critically with information.

India today is home to nearly 150 crore voices, yet millions continue living in cities suffocated by smoke and pollution — silent gas chambers created by unchecked development and political short-termism. Where are the long-term policies to protect forests, clean air, and public health? Where are the serious discussions on pollution control and population management that rise above electoral calculations?

Budgets increase, promises become louder, and freebies multiply rapidly — from free food to free rides. Meanwhile, institutions like ISRO quietly struggle for resources to pursue innovation and scientific progress. When priorities become blurred, society risks celebrating short-term populism over long-term nation building.

History reminds us that there have always been voices that stood firmly for workers, fair wages, farmers, and tribal communities — fighting for जल, जंगल, ज़मीन not as slogans, but as lifelines of survival and dignity.

This is why citizens must read, question, understand, and grow.

Democracy does not ask for blind loyalty. It asks for informed minds capable of independent thought. True patriotism lies not in unquestioning support, but in awareness, responsibility, and courage to think critically.

Don’t become an “अंध भक्त.”

Be aware. Be awake. Be Indian.
