Dehradun: The two-day free Summer Camp organized by the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Uttarakhand, at Durga Mandir, Garhi Cantt, concluded on Tuesday in a vibrant and enthusiastic atmosphere. The camp, aimed at nurturing human values, moral ethics, and cultural awareness among children, witnessed the active participation of around 50–60 children, who took part with great enthusiasm, discipline, and dedication.
The primary objective of the camp was to promote the holistic development of children while inculcating universal human values such as Truth, Righteousness, Peace, Love, and Non-Violence. During the two-day program, children were engaged in yoga, meditation, devotional singing, Vedic chanting, music, dance, art and craft, guided meditation, and several creative activities designed to impart practical life skills. Through interactive games and activities, trainers emphasized the importance of discipline, service, compassion, cooperation, and positive thinking.
State Joint Spiritual Coordinator Beena Joshi conducted sessions on bhajans, mantra chanting, yoga, and various spiritual practices. Addressing the children, she said that values and character developed during childhood play a crucial role in shaping an individual’s future. She highlighted that moral and spiritual education from an early age helps children become responsible citizens and ideal contributors to society and the nation. She also explained that the Sri Sathya Sai Bal Vikas Programme is an effective medium for developing character, self-confidence, leadership qualities, and a spirit of service.
At the valedictory function, State President Colonel Yogendra Singh could not attend due to unavoidable reasons. His message was conveyed to children and parents by State Vice President Ajay Swaroop. He emphasized that human values should not remain confined to books but must be practiced in everyday life. According to him, kindness, honesty, empathy, love, and cooperation form the foundation of a healthy and peaceful society.
He also encouraged children to become environmentally conscious by planting trees, conserving water, and reducing the use of plastic. Stressing the importance of environmental responsibility, he shared messages such as “Plant Trees, Save Life,” “Water is Life,” and “A Plastic-Free Earth Should Be Our Collective Commitment.” He further urged children to show compassion toward all living beings, respect parents and teachers, and adopt the values of humanity in their daily lives.
Parents were also specially addressed during the program. Speakers highlighted the vital role of families in shaping a child’s personality and emphasized that a positive and value-based family environment lays a strong foundation for a bright future. Parents were encouraged to motivate their children to participate in social service, environmental conservation, and activities promoting human values.
During the camp, Anshika Rawat trained children in dance and singing. Her inspiring teaching style and engaging sessions attracted great interest among the participants, who enthusiastically showcased their talents through various cultural performances.
To promote environmental awareness and cleanliness, the organization distributed eco-friendly cloth bags to all participating children. The children also took a pledge to contribute towards building a plastic-free society.
State Youth Coordinator Chitra Chandna encouraged the children to embrace high ideals, moral values, and positive thinking in their lives. She remarked that noble thoughts and good conduct are the keys to a bright and successful future.
At the conclusion of the camp, the children expressed their desire to participate in similar programs in the future. State Vice President Ajay Swaroop thanked all participants, parents, and volunteers for their support and stated that such initiatives play a significant role in providing a positive direction to society.

Kalpana Verma,. Pooja Khadka, Anju Rana Manju Thapa, and Sudha Poon, along with many other volunteers. A large number of parents and children also attended the event, contributing to its grand success.
